The Bridge between Knowledge and Experience, R.C.

In my pursuit of Christ the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) has proven to be the greatest blessing. My name is Russell Cox and following my graduation from the University of Houston in May of 1999; I began my first term of the FTTA in August of the same year. I had been a seeking Christian all my life, but at 22 years of age, with college finally completed, I was not satisfied with my relationship with God. I had read the Bible and Christian literature throughout college, but although I knew so much I realized that I had experienced only a little. I wanted to experience the reality of the things I had read, things that until then, I only knew in an objective way.

The FTTA not only broadened and expanded my knowledge of the truth, filling in the numerous gaps in my understanding, but it also supplied me with the necessary experiences of Christ to make many aspects of the truth revealed in the Bible real and living to me. It is this subjective experience of Christ, expressed so attractively in the Word of God and yet so painfully lacking in my daily living, that I have enjoyed so thoroughly in the FTTA. For me the FTTA has bridged the gap between knowledge and experience. The knowledge of the truth has now become the starting point from which all my wonderful experience of Christ begins. It is one thing to know about Christ, it is quite another thing to know Christ Himself and experience Him and enjoy Him in an intimate and affectionate way. The FTTA has equipped me to enjoy the reality of the truth revealed in the Bible. This has been the greatest blessing of my Christian life.
